West Side Little League's Fall Ball Season has drawn to a close. Kudos to Division Heads Kathleen Wechter, Andrea Kretchmer, Debbie Kling and Lorrie Olavson for executing a successful season, aided in no small part by fair weather. A special thanks to Stephanie Distasio, our Registrar, for her yeoman's work to organize the Fall and Spring registrations.

Spring 2007 UPDATE
1. REGISTRATION
Spring registration WILL OPEN ONLINE ON DECEMBER 1. To register, use the “Click here to register” link on our Home Page.

2. NEW LOCATION AND TIME - OUR ANNUAL MEETING
NEW INFO: OUR ANNUAL MEETING will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2007, at 9:30 am, in the auditorium at MS 54 (aka Booker T. Washington School) (entrance is on 108th Street just West of Columbus Avenue).

3. NEW PITCH COUNT REGULATION
Starting with the 2007 season, Little League will enforce pitch count limits for youth pitchers in all divisions of Little League (for WSLL, ages 9 to 18), based on the pitcher's age. The number of pitches delivered in a game or practice will determine the amount of rest the player must have before pitching again. 4. MANDATORY BACKGROUND SCREENING
ALL League officials, coaches, umpires and volunteers who have contact with youth players are required to complete and submit a 2007 Little League volunteer form to permit the League to conduct a background check, as mandated by Little League regulations.
5. MANDATORY COACHES' & UMPIRES' TRAINING
ALL coaches and volunteer umpires will be required to attend some number of training sessions in the early Spring. Topics to be included: CPR and basic first aid, along with techniques for running safe and effective practices, and player skills development.

Spring Divisions - assignment to Little League divisions is based on player's age as of April 30, 2007 (NEW). Eligibility for play is based on residence and age, as set forth in further detail elsewhere on this site. Returning players have priority for placement. Each year, we have a waitlist, so you are advised to register early.
